Ogri Ai Earrings - Silver
Ogri Ai Earrings - Silver

The name resembles the English “angry eye”: the evil eye. The belief in the evil eye has long been known within different cultures and is still present worldwide. The look of the evil eye could hurt others. And wearing an amulet could provide protection against those evil looks.
You will often see these amulets in blue, but the Surinamese “ogri ai” is slightly different. This comes in the form of a black faceted bead, but can also be blue or red. In Surinamese culture, this bead is often given to babies and children to protect them. The bead or beads are then attached to a pin or bracelet, but they’re also used in various types of jewelry, such as the ala kondre necklace.

Jewelry Care
Jewelry Care
• Remove your jewelry when showering, swimming, exercising or before going to bed.
• Avoid contact with perfume, cosmetics or detergents. Spray on your perfume 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 putting on your jewelry and wait until your lotion is absorbed by your skin.
• Store your jewelry in a soft cloth or a jewelry box to avoid scratches. Also make sure to pack your jewelry safely when traveling.
• If your jewelry does get dirty somehow, dampen a Q-tip with some warm water and soap to remove dirt. Dry off with a soft cloth. I don't recommend putting them in a soap bath, as your Poppin' jewelry have intricate designs with gemstones that shouldn't get too wet.

FAQ
FAQ
Why isn't there a photo of the silver/gold version available?
Because of limited stock, we don't make all available pieces in advance, but rather made to order.
Can I change to a different kind of earring?
Yes, in many cases it's possible to switch from earrings. For example hooks instead of studs. Leave a note at checkout.
