The Kabeh earrings are a celebration of unity. They're made with alakondre beads, which is a traditional Surinamese talisman. 'Ala kondre' translates to 'all nations', which symbolises the diverse Surinamese nation. Kabeh means 'all' in Javanese, which further emphasises the symbolism of these earrings.
About the Talismans
- Ala Kondre: In the 17th century they became popular under the name ‘trade beads’: they were traded for gold, ivory and again for enslaved people as well. These beads, also called ‘ala kondre’, symbolise the unity of the people of Suriname that came from all over the world.
- Job's tears: These seeds come from a grass species. In many traditions, Job's tears are known for their protective powers. For spiritual reasons, they are often used as amulets against negative energy and as aids in meditation. Read more about job's tears

• Remove your jewelry when showering, swimming, exercising or before going to bed.
• Avoid contact with perfume, cosmetics or detergents. Spray on your perfume 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 putting on your jewelry and wait until your lotion is absorbed by your skin.
• Store your jewelry in a soft cloth or a jewelry box to avoid scratches. Also make sure to pack your jewelry safely when traveling.
• If your jewelry does get dirty somehow, dampen a Q-tip with some warm water and soap to remove dirt. Dry off with a soft cloth. I don't recommend putting them in a soap bath, as your Poppin' jewelry have intricate designs with gemstones that shouldn't get too wet.

Why isn't there a photo of the silver/gold version available?
Because of limited stock, we don't make all available pieces in advance, but rather made to order.
Can I change to a different kind of earring?
Yes, in many cases it's possible to switch from earrings. For example hooks instead of studs. Leave a note at checkout.
